Beginner’s Guide to Making Pictures Their Best

This demo will guide photographers in using Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 Ultimate to make quick and incredible changes to images. Using these simple tools, anyone can take a photo from weak to winner in just minuets time.
Selecting Your Photo
After installing Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 Ultimate, the software will find all of the photos on the user’s computer and show them in a Smart Collections menu at the bottom of the screen. Users can scroll through the images and double-click on the image to work on. The image will appear in the workspace in the middle of the screen.
Auto Correcting
For simple, automatic enhancement of the photo, the user should start by choosing the “One-Step Photo Fix” button from the menu on the left side of the screen. This selection automatically fixes brightness, color and contrast.
For advanced quick fixes, the user can choose the “Smart Photo Fix” button. This selection will analyze the photo and suggest the best fixes for shadows, highlights, saturation and focus. If the user likes the changes, all they have to do is click on the “Ok” button and the photo will be enhanced.
The “Smart Photo Fix” button gives the user a little more control. The user can select the “Suggest Settings” button to see what the software suggest be done with the image, but the fine tuning is really up to the user. Brightness, shadows, highlights and saturation can be adjusted to get just the right look.
Advanced Photo Enhancement
Users may find that the auto selections don’t fix all of the image’s problems. For example, digital noise will still be evident. This problem can be fixed by selecting “Advanced Adjustments” at the bottom of the menu on the left side of the screen. A new menu will appear on the left side of the screen. Selecting “Digital Camera Noise Removal” will open a pop-up screen that gives the user tools to reduce the noise and sharpen the image. The best way to achieve the best look for the image is to play with the options and compare the before and after previews of the image.
Other advanced choices work the same way or they automatically correct when selected. The advanced options are:
- Perspective Correction to fix tilted walls and buildings
- HDR Merge for merging multiple images
- One-Step Purple Fringe Removal for removing the effects of over exposure
- Depth of Field to create more focus on subjects
These tools are all a beginning user needs to know to get fantastic results. With a little practice, any image will become picture perfect.
